easiest rangers pass in the history of trades they've had. Also, you can't have conditions based on resigning.

Add to that the fact that Kakko is still a RFA 24/25...Only way he doesn't get a QO is if he gets hit by a bus or something.

We can just sign him without giving up anything next season if we still want him. Kakko and jones don't fit their timeline anyway. The Hawks won't be good for 5 years.

This is too much for Kane and I'm a Hawks fan. The NYR will want to keep KK.

That's presuming ALOT. He's been vocal how much he loves CHI and what they've done for him. If the NYR insult him and assume...they can just sign him next year...I doubt that sits well with Kaner. He'll end up going to another team and find out he really likes it there too. The NYR will miss out entirely.

insult him more than the Blackhawks organization has in the last 6 months?

Can do the picks, but Kakko is going nowhere. Take Gauthier or WIll Cuylle instead.

Yeah, I mean it's already been pointed out how your thinking is flawed. They jettisoned everyone of value from the team and left them with nobody to play with, so I doubt that keeping young talent instead of giving it to the team that is pushing him out is going to feel like an insult.

Either way though. More fans would be pissed over giving up Kakko and Jones for a rental than would be happy it's for Kane. He's probably going to end up in Vegas somehow like everyone else. Or Florida. Not a big deal. NYR has all the pieces they need, they just need to let them cook.

I can 100% see the point of view that if you want to wait...no problem. I don't particularly share that opinion, BUT that's a different question entirely. That's more of a...do you want to pull out all the stops for a cup or do you think you can win one/two/etc... naturally while the other teams around you are getting better at the TDL while the NYR aren't. AND I can see both sides of that debate. Other teams don't have Shesterkin...which we both know a goalie can come up huge in a playoff run.

If we're talking about Patrick Kane...his agent, former teammates, his own words...whatever source you want to choose from. He loves CHI and depending on how his conversations go with his family...he may not want to leave. I agree, the NYR would be 100% on his short list, but the process has been spelled out. Pat Brisson said we'll discuss in December/January. Let's see who's in playoff contention. God forbid Panarin gets hurt. The NYR are out. For the record, I'm 100% ok with the NYR winning the cup. I don't hate the NYR. I'm just trying to help educate the NYR fan base about what's going on from someone who follows the situation. Kaner himself has also been very vocal about how he likes playing with Debrincat. If OTT is in contention, they're VERY much in the mix of teams he'd want to go to. Same with Matthews. If he decides to leave, he'll give a list to Kyle Davidson. If the Rangers say...we think you're worth the 32nd pick in the 2023 draft, but TOR/OTT/EDM/PIT (another team on his shortlist) ...says hey we're even more focused on winning a cup this year and we'll prove our commitment... it's just common sense that he goes to the other team wanting to win today vs keeping their chips and waiting for the future.

You mean by being 100% transparent every step of the way. Being transparent doesn't mean Kane's the GM and Kane makes the trades. It means Kyle Davidson has had tough conversations with him, but that's what honesty looks like.
