Hawks are rebuilding and aren't giving away picks for a 27 year old, not to mention a UFA in another season. Murphy for Mittlestadt is pretty close

I’d rather have Middlestadt or Oloffson than the package requested by this Sabres fan. Both guys r worth way more than this lol.

Slow and steady Buffalo, don’t trade that 23 pick if it has a chance at lottery.

The Sabres aren’t trading two productive forwards for a bad defenseman and a couple third round picks. They aren’t trading for Chychrun because he’s overrated and doesn’t fill a need. They aren’t signing Horvat or Pastrnak imo, but I do think they will land Kane. Also Varly isn’t going to Buffalo to be a backup. And Buffalo wouldn’t bring him in since UPL would have to clear waivers next year.

Buffalo is in a interesting place, hopefully looks internal and locks down a team friendly nucleus if at all possible. Then there should still be some room for a star add up front or on the blueline, kind of like the 10 Blackhawks, and adding hossa and Campbell. Not sure the right names or how the next few years going to go, but definitely going to be entertaining going forward.

Less than 3% chance at a top 8 pick, who cares

Personally I would rather stack up another lottery pick than some of the over term and over pay some of the ufas In this build. Don’t believe it’s going to be a lottery year anyway, which kind of makes it null and void. Would be cool to find the right add that starts as a rental and moves into a nucleus role.

How do you get to less than 3 percent for a top 8 pick? You been a Buffalo fan a while? They have had some ridiculous starts in last few years and literally fell off a cliff. Knock on wood

That would = 11th last in the league, a 3 spot improvement over last year, that's not very far fetched, this roster is better than last years

Playoffs, detroit/Buffalo/ottawa knocking somebody out of the wildcard and possibly two, imo. Thanks for the math, such a good position there in, I just hope they don’t reach too hard and put any anchors up to impede the development of the kids. Is cozens basically a younger version of horvat? I still got high hopes for krebs. Possibly a developed goalie and possibly a sniper away from the rangers, maybe a top 4 dman. Aging tb, Florida being Florida, top heavy cap in Toronto, aging bruins, somebody primed to fall off there perch. Night shift, now just a run on sentence rant sorry lol

Benson/Danielson would both be nice adds, ranked at 8/9 at the moment. But ya unlikely for Buffalo

I'm not down on Krebs at all. I think d is the most significant position for Buffalo to focus on. Jokiharju is still a big question mark. Bryson could be upgraded, and could be upgraded internally. Comrie and Lybushkin have been A+ pickups so far. Anderson is still stealing games this year, and they have good prospect depth in net so I doubt they'll see a need there

I would hope they don't draft another forward that high, their prospect depth at forward right now is obscene (exception for the Buffalo born Musty). Cam Allen is going to go top 5 so he's not an option, the next RD on the board is Maxim Strbak who I like better anyway due to his size, and he's expected to go late 1st round. So I'm really not worried about the Sabres 1st and if they move it to make the team better short term

I've been thinking the same thing, they remind me of the 10' C Hawks. I think they can make a run this year. I'd play it out, make no trades during the season, then maybe sign Kane in the offseason.

Would be also nice to find that right, right handed defenseman for power, could go a variety of ways, as long as it doesn’t break the bank, and hopefully not overtermed either. Some healthy competition in net now too which is nice. That forward group could be rather wild with a kane add, savoie going to take some time, but possibly a point type add, to go with two solid centers to insulate him. Lots of good things coming in the not so distant future.

Having guys like Samuelsson, Joki, Lybush & Fitz on team friendly deals is nice and needed, bcuz all the money is going to Dahlin and Power.

Ya there is a nice group coming, but I think there is a need for one more, kind of the Campbell to the kieth and seabrook, for the hawks dynasty run. Obviously different era, but one more stud back there would be huge in taking the next step. Kind of similar to sergachev/hedman/mcdonagh. Still not a great comparison, with power/dahlin skill level, just a third would be huge imo.
