Wild would have to be tanking to do this, which i highhllly doubt they will be. Plus they have Wallstedt coming up so no need for Woll

Value is there for Bear trade from Canes, but it complicates things roster wise. Think the Canes are probably looking for a pick for Bear, or a replacement LHD for depth. I like Engvall but he probably plays 4th line or scratched on the Canes.

fleury isnt great , this would be a gross overpay, and even if he was good, hes old af. no way the leafs even consider this. we dont need to pay to dump murray, hes only a 600k buyout penalty next year.

Fleury is a playoff goalie and would have a reduced work load during the season

Canes pass. Value is there, but Anderson is an AHL filler. Carolina could use a top 9 winger, but not Engvall, who was hurt in preseason and hasn't looked great to start the year. You're probably looking at futures, something like a 3rd for Bear

He only *looked* horrible the first two games he played. Where he was atrocious.

He was decent to good against Vancouver and outstanding against Boston last time out. He's gotten progressively better over the last couple of games to where only one of the goals against by Boston was one he should've stopped and what you could consider *bad*. Even then it come from 75+ feet out, so wasn't likely expecting it.

Furthermore, the numbers in his stats are deceiving because of how atrocious the Wild's defense has been so far this year, as the vast bulk of goals against this year can directly be attributable to some f**kup by the defense being either out of position or just letting the opponent walk them and given all the time in the world to unleash on Fleury. Case and point, Patrnak's goal on on Saturday, it looks bad on Fleury but Pastrnak should never have been left alone to begin with. That's a defensive issue, not a Fleury issue.

Don't outrighly dismiss him because of the slow start.

Is he old? Yes. Does he need to be in a tandem at his age in order to keep the wear and tear down and to keep him fresh? Yes.

And while I agree that the Leafs don't do this trade as presented. Him being old has no bearing on whether the Leafs would be willing to trade for him if he continues his upward trend and plays well for the rest of the year.

They were reported to be heavily interested in him over the offseason and I see no reason why they wouldn't continue to be if his game continues to picks up.

Murray is a playoff goalie and is doing well in the regular season so far.

Only reason for Toronto to pursue him now is for goaltending depth in the playoffs. However with him having 2-years, getting retention won't come cheap so probably doesn't happen. I also think that Fleury would have no interest in a 3rd string role.

So, unless Murray or Samsonov do go down before the deadline, I can't see it happening.
