Leafs probably aren't looking to trade Murray at all, they probably hope that he will be a difference maker in the playoffs. SJ won't be looking to pay him his salary 75% of his remaining, 8m+salary. I don't think the Leafs are even looking for goalie help at this time. The Leafs also won't be giving up all their draft picks for the next 3 years for rentals for 1-run, at least not for players who the best of them is a star at best.

Vancouver would want the 2023 1st for Horvat not a 2025 1st, and he's the best player from the bunch, so not sure why Vancouver is getting the furthest 1st.

if SJ isn’t looking to compete next season I think this is a very good deal for them

Lol I can’t understand this at all. Trading away all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, AND 4th round picks for the next 3 years, but it doesn’t improve our top 6, and gives us half a year of an aging defensemen to add to the top 4 and half a year of Bo Horvat, James Reimer and Nick Bonino. I don’t get why it would make any sense whatsoever, personally.

Not sure what use Engvall would be to LA. The Kings have more than enough bottom six forwards.

Fourteen out of 15 forwards on the Kings main roster (including the two injured Alexes) are left-handed; 9 of the 10 wingers are left-handed; and we have three good prospects who might be NHL-ready next season who are left-handed. So why in the world would we want a rental bottom-6 LW at any price?
