I would be shocked if Horvat signs a 6 x 6. I assume he will be 7m x 7 or 7m x 8

That’s an easy and he’d no from Columbus. They will get much better offers for Gavrikov.

Horvat at the very least gets 7 x 7m and it would take more than Girard to get him. There will probably be at least 10 teams chasing after Horvat if put on the market. And Allvin will get far more than a just a Girard for him.

Jackets easily decline. Gavrikov price starts with a 23 first and go from there unless you want to include newhook

- Keep the VAN trade.
- Undo the CLB trade.
- Move Newhook 1for1 for an equally young and promising LHD to fill the impending hole Toews will leave. (Now that 1C and 2C are locked up and COL needs to backfill the D).

If Horvat is willing to sign for 6x6, he’ll have plenty of suitors. But realistically, it’s gonna be much higher than that. Which prices him out of Colorado, making him a pure rental.

Meanwhile, giving up Girard means losing a young cost controlled top 4 cost controlled defenseman. And those guys don’t grow on trees and definitely don’t get traded for rentals.

No idea why Columbus would do that. I’d love to unite the Foudy brothers, although they’re both stylistically really similar players.

At this point, I'd have no interest in Girard now. If you want Horvat something around Newhook is probably the only way it's gonna work

Girard would probably be the 2nd best defenseman on the Canucks. Newhook has value because he’s still on his ELC, but Girard is the better player at this point.

If you're trading Horvat you're pretty much accepting that you're gonna tear it down somewhat. Which is why I'd want the younger guy on an ELC with upside. It really has nothing to do with Girard as a player

Makes sense, but Girard is only like 6 months older than Quinn Hughes. For the record I wouldn’t put either of those guys in a trade for Horvat.
