So um Bedard

Created by: HOCKEYBOY448
Team: 2023-24 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 27, 2022
Published: Oct. 27, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Everything goes to hell and the pick wins the lottery. Thank god for the top 10 protection on there. It’d be a hell of a way to boost the offense with young high end skill. Plus guys get some extra time to recover and recooperate from the past few runs. Hopefully Howard makes the roster for 2024-25 team and that’s another boost to the wings.

Nothing personal, but if Tampa wins the Bedard lottery, I hope their arena falls into a sinkhole (when no one is there, obviously)

Mate I get the sarcasm, but just looking at what that could do for the offense. He or Fantilli would be absolutely dynamic for them and relieve the pressure on Stamkos, Point and Kucherov.

Imagine they move up 10 spots from 11th to win the draft. Would be extra salt on the wound, and I would be convinced that the draft was rigged by Bettman to further promote hockey in Florida.

All it is. Bedard or Fantilli would be huge for the team.

Sorta would be like Pens having Lemieux and Jagr and going to Crosby and Malkin. Albeit not as good, but Stamkos and Kucherov to Bedard. Would be kinda cool imo.

Yeah, I kind of hope that Pittsburgh lands Bedard for that reason. Maybe Chicago wins 1st back to back seasons (or 1st+3rd) and get a Toews and Kane situation going again. The sad part is that one or both are probably not going to be around for it even if it happens.

Given their front office and locker room issues of the past, I personally hope they are awful and suffer dark times for a few decades. They may not be the only ones, but they got caught and that’s enough for me. Given Bettman’s persistence of keeping Arizona, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Bedard there.

If the lottery was rigged VGK wouldn’t have picked 6th as an expansion team

There wouldn't have been much of a benefit in doing that, there was no apparent franchise player in that draft, and there was already hype around VGK as the new team. They had favorable expansion rules, so you can say that the expansion draft was rigged for them if you want.

And the Devils have had Hischier, Hughes and Nemec all at 1 and 2. Oilers had 4 1st overalls in 6 years, don’t give me that bs.

Vancouver still wouldn’t be successful. They need to get their defense fixed before adding another forward.

Keyword is apparent. If Makar was an obvious franchise player, then MacKinnon must have been really dumb.

"we got this kid from the Alberta Junior A League.. like what is this? Who did we just draft? He looks okay, but these guys suck."

Nolan Patrick was the guy that was expected to go first in that draft for most of the year.

I’m sorry as much as I think they do, I can’t justify wasting a potential top tier talent on that team. Arizona for one reason or another is a failed franchise in my books. At this point they should be in Quebec City or Houston or just not exist anymore. The entire arena situation alone is embarrassing. Bedard literally plays in front of more people in juniors than he would as a member of the Coyotes. Im sorry I genuinely am not trying to be mean/ rude, just frustrating to see this happening to a franchise. I legitimately hope this next set of prospects can lift them up. Personally think an established d man like Zub could help this off-season as well.

i understand that but arizona truly has fans. sure they are the weakest and most pathetic franchise but i like them and a handful of others do. they weren't given a good opportunity but i dont want to see them move. bedard is just a pipe dream for the yotes ALTHOUGH i do think bedard would turn it around. billy armstrong has been doing a fantastic job so far and we got a lot of picks and a lot of stud prospects and players. i feel like this team will make the playoffs sometime soon

I miss the days when they had Vrbata, Yandle, Doan and that crew. They were entertaining to watch as a kid. Same thing with Buffalo, the Vanek, Pominville, Miller, Afinogenov days. It’s unfortunate when teams struggle for so long.
