Anaheim isn't doing that, they want 'Tavish and Bedard.

Does Anaheim look like they are within 3 years of contending?

C'mon now...We're not greedy. We'd be fine to just settle for Fantilli tears of joy

This is comical honestly

Why on Earth would Verbeek make this deal? It’s pretty obvious we aren’t making the playoffs this year so why are we trading everything for one player??

A 2023 1st rounder that’s looking like one of Adam Fantilli or possibly Connor Bedard — Mason McTavish, our future 1A 1B center?! — Klingberg who we signed to flip for futures at the deadline plus a couple more picks?

This is just awful for the Ducks

Negative, though the Ducks have the cap space to be a quick riser. Grab some picks at the deadline for Klinger, Shatty, and Kulikov (Doesn't really matter what the returns are for the purposes of this exercise), and all of the sudden they'll have a ton of assets to use to upgrade at the draft/over the summer.

To be fair, any deal you see that involves TOR right now will be comical.

There's no logic to any of them. Trades are coming from either emotional Leafs fans who want to blow things up or fans of other teams who think they have the key to TOR's success that they can overpay for.

This site is comical.

I'd be content with anyone in the top 8, tbh. I'd imagine the boys will put together a good couple of weeks at some point and play themselves out of the basement, but who knows...depends on if Eakins is there or not I guess.

I mean, as a guy who knows his team is realllllll bad right now, I can confirm that waking up this morning to see that my beloved boys came back from down 3-1 to win last night was certainly the chuckle I needed to start the day, especially knowing how off the walls a lot of your crew was going to be tears of joy

To be fair though...I've only seen 1 Muzzin trade today!

What point do you think he is canned? I think around the TDL when Verbeek guts the roster for them good ol futures

Must have 'Tavish+Bedard, I don't care if it costs Anaheim Zegras+Steel+2OV.

Anaheim is one of the teams that I'm rooting for to win the Draft Lottery (or to get Bedard if he somehow ends up not 1st).

Muzzin's cap hit is irrelevant for the time being, meaning people have forgotten about him.

Don't worry, you'll see those trades again.

I mean, my guess would be after Christmas, but I don't really know. I still can't see him being fired until Verbeek has his ideal replacement, unless he goes with Roy Sommer to finish the year with the guys who will inevitably coming up from the Gulls.

Nah, I'd be pretty disappointed if Zegras ever gets moved. I don't think anyone would appreciate him the way we do. Zegras/Tav/Bedard or Fantilli would have the potential to be one of the deepest C-cores in the league in 2-3 years. You just find them the minutes, however it works.

I still think we pick somewhere between 5-10 though, because it's just the way it rolls.

Wouldn’t be bad, you think we get Helleson coming up now since JD is out for the next 4-6 months?

2023 1st is out of the question. McTavish is out of the question.

Replace 2023 1st and McTavish with 2024 1st (lottery protected) and Henrique, add 50% retention on Klingberg and you may have a deal. Or drop Henrique, giving you cap space to go acquire Kane or someone else to replace Marner.

Probably throw in Holl to the deal so we don't have to go hunting for another RD.

Frannnnnnk. I just saw that. Very disappointing, but such is life I guess...

Nah, I'd imagine Shatty moves to the second pairing (Probably good for his potential trade value...), then probably any two of Beaulieu/Benoit/White on the 3rd pairing (Not friggin' ideal). Helleson hasn't looked like he's ready. I'd imagine if Vaak recovers then he'll slide in there somewhere as well.

Axel actually hasn't looked bad so far. I don't think he's ever more than a fringy 3rd pairing guy, but I could see him up before Helleson. Or, if we're heavy into the tank, give me some Hunter Drew!

Exactly. They would get torn apart defensively, but everyone already is, so at least it could be fun.

Side note: who you have on your current list of guys you want us to draft?

Bedard-Fantilli-Yager-Benson-Dvorsky-Michkov, in that order. Lots of people are pretty high on Leo Carlsson because of the offence early on, but I'm not sold.

Michkov is easily top 3, and it wouldn't kill me if they took him, but I don't know if I'm patient enough to wait until 2026 for him to even consider coming over.

I was only kidding about Zegras (kind of disappointed that he changed to #11, I liked the #46 on him), but it would definitely be nice if Bedard and McTavish were reunited.
