Your not getting Joel Eriksson ek, stud good young C for a winger , a position team like Minnesota doesn't need. Boeser doesn't have that value, and Minnesota wouldn't. Philly also reject your proposal. Please stop with Boeser to Minnesota

Don't see the Isles trading Beau for Garland, if they were to try and acquire him it would only be for a pick.

I could see the Isles wanting send salary back in that trade, Wahlstrom and Sorokin have new contracts due in the next two years. Wouldn’t HAVE to be Beauvillier, but you’d think the Isles would send some kind of contact back.

In the next two years the salary cap is expected to go to 83.5 and 87.5 (even more if escrow gets paid off). When Sorokin gets his raise Bailey, Clutterbuck, Martin contracts expire. There will be plenty of cap room at that time.

Long term, the contract situation is stable enough. However, Wahlstrom will still need a raise (my guess is around 3.5-4m aav) and Mayfield will either get a raise or leave, likely forcing us to find a replacement more expensive than 1.45m aav. Yes, Varlamov’s contract is up, but again, his new contract (or his replacement’s) will not be THAT cheap. Lou seems to like having a competent backup.

Even in the present, we only have 3m in cap space. We’d still need to clear around 2m to make room for Garland. Which would likely involve sending a forward back the other way.

Mayfield is gone, this is his one chance to get a big contract unless Lou does something crazy like the Casey contract to keep him here long term. Either way he deserves it, played very well for years in a contract far below market value.

The Isles really need to focus on moving out Bailey (easier said then done, I know) to open up space. Let’s say Bailey is gone next year and Parise retires, you have to figure one of Raty, Holmstrom, Dufor or Ishakov make the team as well. Maybe you can get Garland in the offseason to and elevate one of the prospects, but Isles still should keep Beau as they need all the speed they can get up front or there will be more games like the Devils one ahead for them.
