Description
I think the Devils deal Severson because he is a UFA at the end of the year, and they have Simon Nemec who will probably take an NHL spot. With Hamilton's big contract and Marino being younger and locked in for 4 more years Severson gets dealt. Dillion also helps NJD on the left side.

Severson easily fetches a 1st at TDL if he were to be moved, but with how good the Devils have been why would they trade him? Dillon would be 3rd pairing in NJ btw.

Garland is worth much more than Demelo and a 4th. Demelo would probably be someone Vancouver is interesting in but you have to add a premium piece (1st, great prospect) and probably a 2nd or 3rd

Idk why Chevy didn't send Heinola and a pick to Pittsburgh for Marino.

If anything they'd send Heinola to NJ in a package for Severson.

There's nothing enticing about that offer for Severson.
Either the Devils just keep him as a self-rental in order to sustain this playoff push or, if they fall out of the playoff races, he's dealt for a similar return to what Chiarot and Savard got in recent TDLs, if not more given that Severson is a better player than either of them.
