Description

Going on assumption Avs will have saved enough cap space by TDL, Avs get their 2C rental. Both O'Reilly & Compher's contracts expire at end of year, giving both teams flexibility next off-season. To even it out, add a prospect (If not Kaut, maybe Bowers or someone else) and swap backup goalies. From the Blues' perspective, Frankie could be the new starter in StL. giving how erratic Binnington is. Greiss gives the Avs the veteran backup for Georgie and Avs can move Justus up to backup in 2023-24, saving a million. Avs could then decide next offseason whether Newhook is ready for 2c or to trade Girard for 2C or to clear cap space.

I'm torn on moving Frankie, Blues will want more than this for RoR probably a 1st if a deal is worked out before hand. I really want a homecoming if he can accept that he wont have a letter and is a 2c, not a 1c. I wonder what a last contract deal would look like for RoR. If Newhook grows over the years having Mack, Newy, RoR, Meyers down the middle would be pretty, pretty, pretty good.

This is pretty bad for st louis. Atleast add Colorado's first round pick to the deal.

I’d be hyped to add RoR to this roster for a cup run but unfortunately I don’t think I’d be willing to give up the pieces to make that trade happen.

STL declines this deal. Compher has no value to them as a rental. And Kauts value is probably reaching an all time low right now.

I don't believe there is any love lost between ROR and Colorado.

Also, a horrendous, absolutely horrendous trade for STL. Breathtakingly bad.

Where is the value for the blues in this deal? Francouz isn't a need for us. Compher has no value for us and Kaut is a meh prospect. There needs to be a first and a prospect and more if we are trading him within the division

The Blues are not helping the Avs, and especially not for this trash offer. And Binnington is not the one to blame for what's going on right now.

I'd love to have O'Reilly for a run, but St. Louis is going to (justifiably) want a TON for him. This offer isn't even something they should consider. Probably starts with 2023 1st + Olausson or Behrens + Beaucage? Just an idea of what could be worked around.
