The Flames miss Gaudreau's ability to transport the puck big time.

From a hockey perspective, I wonder if he has any regrets. CBJ's time is coming, but for a player that's 29, that's gotta be tough.

That garbage doesn't get back Gaudreau, He left for a reason. He wants to play in the States and he's doing that.

You really think players pay personal income taxes? I find it interesting that we never hear about NBA or MLB players complaining about taxes even if they trades to a Toronto team. But on CapFriendly it seems to be a big issue.

From the Flames view, you can't really have any control with UFAs. But that Tkachuk trade. Would the Flames have been better just to keep in for one year and have him go as UFA. Certainly the 8 year contract offered to Huberneau which start when he is age 30, might be reeking very soon.

Alberta has the best tax rate of the Canadian teams, Johnny would've paid $129K/yr more in Calgary compared to Columbus so really that's not much of a difference.

Alberta has no sales tax whereas Ohio has a state sales tax that varies by county and is 7% in Columbus so he would've paid a bit more on that compared to in Calgary.

Honestly I don't think taxes were a factor at all for Gaudreau.

I forgot Gaudreau was on the Flames. It's so engrained, when I imagine him all I see is Columbus blue
