Oilers won't want Gallagher, too many health issues and his contract won't age well.

Why are you viewing Savard as a dump, guy is literally playing his best hockey in years.

-Duclair & Ekblad are expected back this year - there's no way that the Panthers can afford Edmundson's contract at that time. I'm assuming that's why they're holding open so much LTIR space currently.

-If I'm the Oilers, I'd rather just live with Barrie's 2x$4.5M that's gone next summer than take on Gallagher's deal - that's 3 extra years at $6.5M for a guy who looks washed at this point. Edmonton only takes this if you add your 2023 1st, unprotected - that's how bad it is for them.

-Sabres' blue line is pretty set going forward, so I can't see them being super interested in Savard's multi-year deal at $3.5M. If they're adding a body, they're adding someone who's on an expiring deal - or more likely just riding it out for the next 4 weeks or so til their guys are healthy again. I don't think it's an issue they need to spend assets on at this point.

If not, Sabres easily pass
Even if he is playing well, we might not want him for 2 more years after this

Our defense is getting healthy btw,
so i don’t think we’re in great need to do something
