If dubois doesnt signed the habs wont be giving jack all because they can just sign him when he becomes a ufa

Just curious. What are your thoughts behind replacing Scheif/Dubois with Pavelski?

He can take his qualifying offer and walk himself tp ufa status just like he did this year.

So he will resign as a Jet unless traded or a successful offer sheet comes in. Seems like too much for the Habs to give up for him. I guess the bigger question is whether the Jets would want Dubois at 9m plus for eight years? Could be too much for a second line centre.

The Philly trade....no way Philly makes that trade for one year of Schiefele.

I didn't think he would but who knows, anything is possible, he probably wants to cash in and if the Jets make him a lucrative offer he might stick around, Chevy doesn't usually overpay so wouldn't expect one for Dubois, he definitely isn't worth whats suggested here... 🤮

Philly might not want to, but a team will easily pay a 1st and a mid twenty’s “prospect” for a rental 1C. He’d get more than this likely.

Also I’d pay that much for Dubois. Cap is going to jump a solid bit over the next 3-4 years where 9M for a 2C becomes the norm anyways. Plus the jets never been looking for stability at 2C for years. I’m more concerned about what they’re going to pay scheifele on his next deal.

Dubois is only 24 and entering his prime. I’d easily pay him what is offered here. He’s a 200ft C with grit and leadership qualities. Not to mention he’s probably going to finish just under a PPG this year and he’s playing with Wheeler and Perfetti… I’m more concerned about what they’re going to give scheifele. Jets need long term stability at C because I don’t know if Lucius, Lambert or Perfetti end up playing C in the NHL.

A Scheifele trade....for a one year remaining, only a contender would offer a first...if they had the cap. Flyers though off to good start, aren't a good team and shouldn't be risking a lottery pick.
Scheifele just might get as much at TDL in Feburary 2024, if a team needs a centre and could absorb his cap better.

Ben Chiarot returned a 1st round pick as a rental, zito is an idiot but I’m sure you can get at least a first and a solid prospect for a PPG 1C. A contender easily pays that price if not more to load up. Giroux got PHI much more than what’s proposed here.
