No thanks from Winnipeg. There's no reason for Winnipeg to consider this now.

Mtl accepts tho thats a lot of cap to take on. This would be the min demand. They probably ask for a 2nd instead of a 3rd and they would shed a defenseman like a Savard or Edmundson in this trade instead of Drouin. Barrie doesnt have a role on this team rn when they go 5 forwards on the PP and Guhle/Matheson can Qb

Why is EDM panicking? D/G weakness no difference than last year. You just need the two best players in the world to commit to team defense

Are you trolling ?! In what world do the habs even consider it without a 1st attached with barries contract

lol

I mean Barrie's isnt that bad of a deal. He's also not a positive value in this market tho unlike a few i wont say many Oilers fans claim. Most seem to realize now that a 3rd pair PP specialist on a team massively disappointing isnt going to leverage a return of any worthwhile

I'm simply not a massive homer. I dont reject deals on sight without looking at the big picture. More should try it here instead of tribalism and this place would be more worthwhile to discuss trade options. Dont really get it especially Avs fans now with their ego going crazy about Horvat deals when they all have egg on their face after the Lehkonen deal. You'd think they would be more open minded but no!
Every trade offer tried should NOT to be made sense but to create discussion otherwise what are we even doing here, nobody here is a GM, we are throwing things at the wall!

Hi, Avs fan checking in here.

Not sure what you’re going on about. The discussion about Horvat to the Avs is a rental is that they can’t afford to re-sign him and that the asking price is too large if the guy is a pure rental.

Not sure how Lehkonen is relevant. He was a pending RFA that the Avs could afford to re-sign. The asking price there was high too, but probably because he was still under team control. Unlike Horvat who will walk to a big pay day in the summer.

I just made an Avs ACGM to “create a discussion” about why Horvat to the Avs with an extension is not something that makes the team better. The intent there is to “look at the big picture” I.e. why Vancouver fans need to look at both sides of a trade proposal.

Most of the time when fanbases are rejecting trades instantly, it’s because they have been proposed ad nauseum (Horvat, Drouin, etc to Avs). Those are tired and boring and don’t make sense. When ACGMs actually propose something viable, I think the discussion is much better here.

Habs are focusing on building the team internally and therefore unless a 1st is attached to barrie they have absolutely 0 interest in barrie and his QB attributes
