1.
MTL
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (MIN)
MIN
Sean Monahan TDL 2022-2023 (50% retained)

Gives center depth to Minnesota for the playoffs. Been our best foward outside of Suzuki-Caufield-Dach so far. Good 2nd/3rd line center and seems like a good teammate.
    2.
    MTL
    1. Spence, Jordan
    2. 2024 3rd round pick (LAK)
    Additional Details:
With Doughty sign for 4 years, Durzi, Roy, and Clarke, LA has a RHD surplus and a lack of LHD defenseman. With Durzi and Clarke already in the NHL, Spencer is likely the odd man out.
    LAK
    1. Edmundson, Joel ($1,000,000 retained)
    2. 2023 5th round pick (CGY)
    Additional Details:
TDL 2022-2023. Edmundson is a top 4 defenseman (he played top 4 minute when STL won the cup and when MTL reach the final) that add physicality, experience and leadership to a team who is looking to win some rounds in the playoff this year. I know some comments will say it’s a lot but look at what Florida gave for Chiarot (1st,4th + B prospect) and what Tampa gave for Savard in 2021 (1st + 3rd). Those type of defenseman are critical to a team succes in the playoffs.
    3.
    MTL
    1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
Here’s the splash of the offseason. Dubois made it clear he wants to play for MTL and the habs can’t afford the risk to wait for 2024 summer.
    WPG
    1. Barron, Justin
    2. Dvorak, Christian
    3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
    4. 2024 2nd round pick (COL)
    Additional Details:
This is based on Eichel’s deal to Vegas (Tuch, Krebs, pick 16 in 2022 and 2nd in 2023). Mtl gives an establish player in Dvorak, Barron who’s a good prospect (1st round pick in 2020) and a 1st and second. Can’t give much more than that IMO
    4.
    MTL
Gets picked up on waivers. Anywhere.

** BTW I kept Hoffman on the roster because I still think MTL can get value for him at the 23-24 TDL. He’s a goal scorer and everybody needs goals in this league. Buy him out cost us some cap space, which we’ll need in the future. IF he can keep a 20 goal/season production we might get a 3rd or a B prospect for him who knows.**

Windjammer won't like this. Dubois is apparently worth Suzuki, Barron and Slafkovsky.

That might be a bit high for Dubois, but would probably interest the Jets.

Minnesota isn't trading anything for Sean Monahan. Guerin doesn't like him, and Minnesota doesn't need him, facts. Mason shaw is better than him

Montreal isn't going to be buyers, So Pierre-Luc Dubois isn't happening and he's not signing that low ball contract.

Holy overpay for PLD, and we're still sellers not buyers so congratulations for not getting it...

Jack Johnson is playing top pairing minutes for Chicago right now. Does that mean he's a top pairing defenseman in the league and should get a quality return in a trade?

Are we sure the Florida pick is going to be later than the Montreal pick?

Yo if you compare Edmundson with Jack Johnson your out of mind. I received crap last year when I was trading a 1st for Chiarot, and look MTL received a 1st and +

Don’t know lol. But if it’s top 10 we’re picking and trading Florida’s pick. I had them losing in the first round this year so the pick might be in that 17th-22th range.

That isn’t a lowball lol. Montreal has to set a standard for their contract and it’s that nobody gets more than Suzuki, their captain. And this trade is for 23-24. At some point, only drafting doesn’t garante you succes, if a good player is available and you need to go for them, just like Hughes did for Dach.

Saying Mason Shaw is better is quite a hot take. Still had 7 season over 20 goals lol. But if it’s not the Wild, other teams are going to be interested for him at the deadline

I'm not comparing the players. I'm just saying that just because he's playing top four minutes, it doesn't mean he's a top four quality defenseman.

That PLD trade is umm VERY lopsided, Jets except in a heartbeat and Montreal gets ripped off.

Ok but Edmundson IS a quality top 4 dman
He’s not a quality #2, he can’t be your go-to guy, but he’s solid on a second pairing playing 18-20 min a night
