Both teams decline. Oreilly gets atleast one solid prospect in that deal and the hawks would want a first if they have to take barrie

CHI could probably get a 2nd or 3rd for McCabe alone, he's not a superstar but he's signed to a reasonable deal. Where's the return for taking Barrie off your hands.

Blues and Hawks will want more. Lets just keep Barrie right now hes playing well. I think oreilly would be a good add but Shaefer or Bourgault would likely go the other way.

I'd rather have Barrie than McCabe even if the trade was 1-for-1, let alone adding a high pick.

Edmonton declines.

I might add Bourgault to the Oreilly deal but the hawks dont need a first to "take" Barrie. Hes a good d man the trade is just to save 500,000. They can trade him for another second to a different team with some retention Id say its an easy yes to an overpay on Edmontons part

If you can get positive value for barrie then trade him somewhere else. As far as the hawks are concerned, he's a cap dump. No doubt about it.
