-Joey Anderson is a depth guy with minimal value. SDA is a longshot prospect. The 2023 1st is nice, but not enough. Add Matthew Knies and San Jose picks the phone back up.
-St. Louis doesn't have the cap room, and I'd assume any team doing you the favor of swapping bottom-6 forwards and taking back the higher cap hit would get the better side of the pick swap.
-Holl could get more value if you send him to a contender needing help at RD3 - Anaheim has little use for a pending UFA at this point, unless they want a live body to help hold it down with Jamie Drysdale injured & John Klingberg probably out the door at the deadline.
-I mean, just send Simmonds to the AHL if you don't want him. His cap hit can be buried without penalty, and he's got enough playoff experience that I'd rather have him be an injury replacement in the playoffs than a guy like Pontus Holmberg. Depth is important, don't sacrifice it when you don't need to!
-Easy pass for New York for several reasons! First - Kerfoot doesn't upgrade the forward group enough to take on an extra $2M+ in cap hit; second - there's no real depth at RD behind Scott Mayfield so this creates a huge hole to fill a need that isn't there; third - if the Isles are trading Mayfield, it means they're most likely out of the playoff hunt and a pending UFA isn't of any interest to them; fourth - if they're selling Mayfield, the price is the Josh Manson package, and this ain't it...I could keep going, but I think you get the point. Bad fit all around for New York.
