Find it hard to see a world where Carolina turns that down. Might want some prospects drafted more recently than 2018, but overall, fine. With Morrow expected to sign later this year, there's no reason not to if offered

Caniac2000 just closing up shop for the season after 20 games. Selling Burns for futures would be waiving the white flag and you might as well sell off anyone not bolted down.

I wanna say no to the Columbus trade because i think they would have better options for the cap space but with the 2 picks attached it’s harder to say no.

I'm not saying the season is over. I'm saying Morrow is signing at the end of the year. Burns is 38 and signed for the next 2 years after this one. Getting this much more than we gave up for him would be a big plus.

Morrow is going to need a season in the A before playing meaningful mins at the end of this season for the canes. When he is signed after UMASS is eliminated…he’s reporting to Chicago.

I appreciate the viewpoint but selling burns for prospects and picks isnt a good idea.

I majorly disagree with Morrow. His tools, even at his age, make him a better talent to have at the NHL level than even Chatfield. He's got the offensive awareness, he's got the speed and skating, and he needs defensive work. There are not many places for defensive development than Raleigh right now. Not to mention, his speed next to Slavin would be much more like a Dougie fit than a Burns/DeAngelo one.

I appreciate the worry about his development, but turning down an offer like this for someone past his prime that is only getting further away from it should be a firable offense

I hate some of the long-term consequences some of these moves lead to so much

There's a very easy reason to say no. We're counting on Voracek's contract ending when it does because that's the same year new contracts are needed for all of KJ, Sillinger, and Marchenko, among others. Benn's contract having an extra year gets in the way of that. I don't see two seconds being worth that hardship.
