If we lose TVR+ Interesting trade with Montreal

Description
We sign Rutta which wouldn't be bad. Righty that won't come at a high cost. Still think pushing for arty to move would be key. He simply isn't a good fit for us in my opinion if we want to win now. Possibly trade Schmaltz too, someone capable of playing center

Not loving that trade to MTL. Okay with trading both Panarim and Ani, but let's get a top line or 2nd line D guy (Alzner in free agency) and a top 2 offensive line guy.

I love that Montreal trade. Unfortunately 3.7 million isn't enough for a legitimate top 4 guy. Better off banking it for deadline.

Never realized just how bad the Hawks cap was. You'll be hard pressed to pry Danault back from Bergevin's hands, but he does like Russians...

Stan Bowman prolly woulda been a good GM in the pre-salary cap days. Actually, that is how he tends to manage -- seemingly oblivious to the cap. Just sickening how things are when so much more could have been for the Hawks.

Think Bergevin wants to have an all Russian line? Panarin/Anisimov/Radulov? Maybe this gets Radulov back for a reasonable amount? Heck, maybe the full Russian invasion comes with Ilya too?!?!I

Chicago Blackhawks
Nick Schmaltz

Vancouver Canucks
Marcus Granlund (makes 900 thousand) & 2nd round pick

Gives Chicago with a bit more experience, but gives up youth and probably a higher ceiling. Thoughts?

They seem like similar players but Schmaltz has an extra year on his contract. Despite the sake of a fairly high 2nd rounder, I'd pass.

I wouldn't accept that trade if I were in Montreal's shoes. It's not much of an improvement. 107 pts into 119 pts. Plus Pacioretty and Danault have slightly more favourable contracts. Then to throw in a 2nd rounder. That'd get Bergevin in some more trouble. Also don't think Vegas is looking to give up any picks, especially not for Kruger. They'll probably just take TVR and be content.
