More like beniers, mccann, firkus, 2 1sts and 2 2nds.

Ridiculous return but probably what it would cost for them to move him. Gonna be a lindros like haul

Regardless of return. Just wouldn’t make sense for Toronto who is contending.

Honestly, bad trade for both teams.

Toronto sacrifices their window of opportunity, and Seattle loses their long-term future for a year and a half of Matthews.

Seattle is building a solid team and have their top 2 centers for the next 10+ years in Berliner’s and Wright. few more drafts and picking up a few solid pieces and their a playoff contender in 1-2 years if not already.
not a good time to give up picks and prospects for rentals.

Exactly, they just need to stay the course and they can get up to 15 years out of this core.

Vegas should take notes 😛

both teams took drastically different approaches to the game and team design but you can’t fault the Knights who have set themselves up well, and are a cup favorite again this year.

All I see with the Knights is short-term thinking, with long-term repercussions. I'd rather be in Seattle's shoes.

Knights are set up well and have been in cup contender window every year since 2017 that’s 6+ years of playoff caliber play! that’s most teams goal, yes as they age they will need to either figure out how to sustain or rebuild but they have at least 3 more years of playoff worth play so short term or not they have succeeded so far.
