Chibrikov was a projected 1st in 2021 and a second round round pick make up for not a first round pick as well as Harkins who could blossom in an expanded role you can get firsts for kane this offer is worth more than a first

Don't trade for Toews. He's never going to be worth the overpay he'll get.

I wouldn't do Chibrikov straight up for Toews at this point. ("Meh prospect" lol.)

Chibrikov was and 2 seasons after his draft he's not looking very good in the KHL. I get it he's still young which is fair, but he should be producing more then he is producing regardless.

Any guarantee that Chibrikov is even coming to N America? Not sure a rebuilding Hawks team wants to take that gamble is a deal for one of their better trade chips. This deal could just as easily wind up being Harkins and a 2nd for Toews

Also question how much more Harkins is going to blossom - he's already 25 and will be playing on what will be another weak Hawks team next season.

I gotta agree w/ ChiHawk. This doesn't feel like the right pieces for Toews half retained

Guys 19 years old and not even playing on the KHL team because there isn't space for him (KHL isn't a development league)
He crushed all reasonable expectations last year, I'm willing to put early season struggles as an outlier. The Athletic went over the 2021 draft recently and re-ranked him 18/19th can't remember specifically, I'll take their word over both my own and some person on the internet.
He's not a "meh" prospect, if he got included in a Toews deal he would be the primary piece.

No one really knows esp with the War, but the expectation is because he's not getting chances in the KHL is that he'll come over this offseason cause his contract is up.
Your gut is right about Harkins though, guy's just a tweener

I get he's 19, but the KHL is not that different from the AHL. The average AHL team is better IMO then the average KHL team, while the top KHL teams are better then the AHL, but the point is he hasn't shown much in his time in the KHL and he's not exactly lighting up the VHL either this season. Then add to it that Russian players are very high risk gambles for multiple reasons and 21 wasn't a great draft year. I'd much rather have a late 23 first then Chibrikov
