i totally thought he was russian going off of his name lol L, i even knew the guy was finnish just was reading free agents and saw 'ov' im like hes gotta be a russian fella

He is Russian too, but he reps Finland (where he is born). Guessing his father is Russian, but he does have dual citizenship it seems, and Burakovsky is Finnish and Austrian according to capfriendly.

Edit: just looked it up both of Barkov's parents are Russian.

André Burakovsky is Swedish and Swedish only lol. His father Robert played in Austria when André was born, that’s the only reason.
