Why would St. Louis or Parayko do that?

Leafs have absolutely no interest in trading 1.4m RHD Lilgegren for Parayko 6.5m never ending contract.
Doubt if the Leafs want to give up a first and second for rental Barbashev.

I feel like the Leafs fans can't go a week without trying to trade guys who could be taken for free off waivers for NHLers.

Also Lemieux is still injured, and not for sale. Kings lack physicality, he might be the last player on the block.

Cause it's 2022. I can see Parayko wanting to stay in St Louis. Liljegren 7 point plus 13 at 1.4m. 29 year old Parayko, 7 points, minus 7 and almost eight years at 6.5m

Did you just try to use points to describe Parayko? The guy has a career high of 35 points.

Yes, I did. But his site is "CapFriendly". My opinion Liljegren provides much value now...especially at 1.4m, then 29 year old Parayko for almost eight years. Even this year, which player is playing the best? No reason to think that it's not Liljegren.

I mean sure if you want to completely disregard QoC then yeah Liljegren is probably playing better in this 25 game sample size. I like Liljegren but he's still got a long way to go in terms defensive play when comparing to Parayko

But it a terrible value swap for the Leafs....it's not even close. You could trade ANY player on any team and trade them for a better player. (with the exception of McDavid)
Even if Parayko is better than Liljegren now, will he be next year? And it's there still is 5.3m cap difference too.

Dont get me wrong, ive been very advocate of Toronto not trading Liljegren in general. Cap space is also a fair argument. I also said this is simply a bad trade for St. Louis, that doesnt mean it cant be bad for Toronto too

I feel like this is a point that gets lost on here a lot. Just because it's bad for one team, doesn't mean it also isn't bad for the other.
