Canucks decline easily. As people are always saying on this site, "when you trade a star player, you command quality over quantity." Quite frankly, this offer has pretty much no quality but all kinds of quantity. Robertson is a B+ prospect. He's a small winger, which is exactly the last thing the Canucks need to be acquiring with our surplus of wingers. Abruzzese is a 23 year old AHLer who may not even become an NHL regular. Best case scenario he becomes a bottom 6 centre, but again he's smaller and left handed, the last thing the Canucks need in a centre. Kerfoot, Holl, and Engvall are all rentals who hold no value to Vancouver. A late 1st, a 2nd and a couple of 3rd's are about the only pieces in this package that would be of any value to the Canucks. If the Canucks move Pettersson, which they shouldn't and won't, it will be for a Dobson type defensemen. They will not move Pettersson for a couple of prospects that they don't need, some rentals, and a few draft picks. Canucks probably counter by removing Pettersson from the deal and sending the offer back.
