Remove the Monahan trade and it’s fine.

I’ve never been a fan of him and still won’t pay more than a 3rd for him, Bourque is a ridiculous price and will not be traded for a player of that caliber.

The trade value for Monahan, if healthy, seems spot on. If healthy is the only question mark and if a trade were to occur, I would imagine it would happen closer to the TDL to minimize risk.
Small sample so far but Monahan has shown he is exactly what you want in a 2nd line center. Big body paired with high IQ who can sustain offensive pressure, plays on the PP and PK, excellent face off man who will take that face off with one minute left in the game, whether up one goal or down one goal, great leader. I’m not sure what’s missing if you are looking to upgrade your center position heading into the playoffs.

As for the return, it’s a lot of dead cap that Montreal would be retaining (that they could otherwise use to gain other assets from other teams), so the total return seems pretty fair.

Chychrun is the only player I would be willing to include Bourque in a trade.

I don't see Ottawa giving up picks for Gurianov. Even if they move Motte, Watson and Brassard at the deadline they certainly wouldn't be paying a 4th and a 7th for a guy to finish out the season for them. The asking price would need to be much lower as I'm doubtful OTT would want to extend him.
