Because today (and by today, I mean December 2022), the Vancouver Canucks do get something in return (including draft picks), instead of having the potential and risk of both Horvat and Schenn walking away as UFAs next summer and the Canucks getting/having nothing when they had the chance. And this trade, to me, could, would possibly force Cancusk management into forcing them to do a real, legit and proper rebuild. Also why Vancouver does this...because it's MY 'Roster'
