I imagine they are aiming towards Fiala return (Faber, 1st) if they move him. Maybe a little more.
The problem in pricing Meier is the unique contract situation ($10 million qualifying offer). Any team that trades for him will want extension agreed upon first, but Sharks won’t allow other teams to speak with him. So the most likely option would be a summer trade after the 2023 draft (when teams could freely speak with Meier without SJS permission).
If his contract demands are super high, his value could fall to Reinhart return or even Buchnevich return levels. If his contract demands are reasonable, the Sharks could get a bit more than Fiala return.
The most common ask of NJ is Holtz plus 1st.
