Robertson, Steeves, Knies, Abruzzese, and two firsts for ~20 games and one playoff run of O'Reilly and Horvat? No thanks. This team us extremely deep and would be a joy to watch, but unless both Horvat and OReilly agree to extensions that are well beneath their market value, I'm declining every time

Too bad Horvat grew up a Red Wings fan and not a Leafs fan.

I can see 100% Ryan O'Reilly going to Toronto. But not Horvat You don't even have the pieces that Allvin wants for Horvat.

Both overpay by the Leafs. Then you put Tavares out of his natural position.

Provided the Blues are selling (they are not for the moment), they happily accept. You can even keep Abruzzese and the 5th.

I have no idea why. They don't need him and most likely they have exactly one prospect that would interest the Blues very much.

The idea is to have ROR as the 3rd line C so Kampf can become the actual 4th line C and we have a bottom 6 of defensively minded centers who can play the special teams and have an offensive push when needed but more importantly, shut down a game once the top 6 take a lead.

This also gives the leafs a legitimate 2nd PP unit. With Tavares's speed, it makes more sense for him to be on the LW at this point (beyond the faceoff), so getting Bo could provide that chance.

As Horvat is less likely to re-sign (or at least at a number the leafs can actually do) that's why his deal is the Robertson, Steves one and not the Knies deal.

I'm not saying these deals are perfect, just what I thought it would take for the Blues and Canucks to say yes.

St. Louis definitely says yes. Vancouver I imagine declines pretty easily
