Trying to Figure out the Next Big Apple Core

Created by: Swampy_Rabbit
Team: 2022-23 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 20, 2022
Published: Dec. 20, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Maybe some parts happen this offseason, maybe some happen next, maybe none at all, but who knows. ACGM keeps me green on MSTeams.

Nothing is setting in stone, more so trying to figure out the market value for these people.

The goal: Keep the kids and get rid of the old geezers. Granted with old Geezers we are ignoring NTC and M-NTC...for now.

The Kids:
Laff, KK, Chytil, Key, Lindgren, Schnieder = Whole lot of Cash

The Old Geezers:
Krieder, Panarin, Trouba, Goodrow = Whole lot of cash

The Inbetweeners:
Trocheck, Kravstov

Not Going anywhere:
Shesty, Fox, Zib

Could Really Care less:
Blais, Hajek, Gauthier

I deleted Hajek...is best for all parties.

Dallas declines. Both players are overpaid, but Goodrow costs more and is signed longer. Rather just bite the bullet, keep Faksa, and get rid of the contract in a couple years when it expires.

Kreider already blocked every Canadian team on his last partial NTC deal, he's never going to waive to Canada now with a a full clause

1000% agree. Nobody can. Not even the Rangers.

Ducks aren’t giving you what you want for Panarin

Doesn’t make sense for us to send out picks for expensive players since we have our own we have to extending in the next 2-3 years

The Breadman certainly earns his paycheck, right now.

What does his production look like in the last year or two of that deal? Ducks would be getting over the hill Panarin while still paying prime Panarin AAV, and we can't sunset him in the minors in case he completely falls off a cliff. He's on our roster until his deal ends or we buy him out. If I am Anaheim, I am probably staying away unless you offer him up for scraps, as the risk is too high.

The biggest part of your return would be the 11.6 mil in cap space you open up for the next 3.5 seasons

Boston has 33k of cap space and none next year either. Wrong team.

Unrealistic cause of NTCs. Say hell froze over, we'd have to retain or take back term anyway. Leaving us with even worse depth, lack of important core players,..., if we were tanking sure! Just for what? Just to sign a Horvat @7×9m lol

yes. Basically, his wife is a doctor who put off her career for Trouba to get his "big-boy" contract where she could start her career. If trouba was traded he would have to go somewhere "local" to NYC so that she could continue to work at her dream job.

This is Arm Chair GM. A fantasy dream for the least qualified of people to trade multi-million dollar players. A Frozen Hell is a regular thing here.

Your use of the word drama is wrong. It's not drama. He literally said that her career is just as important as his.
