Sharks Trade Deadline

Created by: pavelski_tip_in
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 25, 2022
Published: Dec. 25, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Karlsson and Couture likely won't be moved because of contract length. I'm just floating possible trades for guys having decent seasons and shorter term left. Looking for as many 1-3 round picks as possible. I think Sturm stays another year at least and Kunin can't be traded because of his injury. Megna isn't really worth trading because I'd value him at around a 5th.

not really interested in giving up räty in a deal that includes the 23 first but would give up any of our other prospects.

When your prospect pool is consensus bottom 5 in the league, I don't think you can trade for anyone of note using your "other prospects."

I can see the argument about shuffling some of the picks around to balance it out.

I think it’s funny nobody wants to give up anything of quality for a 26 yo star

I would ask for more for Barabanov. Would make him $1.5 mil and a possible 60 point player

He's on pace for 50 points this season (assuming he plays 70 games since he's missed 5 already), but only 10 goals. I feel like you need to include a little more context to his high point pace.

His salary is very attractive though.

The prospect pool isn’t great but it’s certainly not bottom 5

Sorry I'm new to this and was basing this off a few rankings I saw.

The Athletic had them at #27 and the Hockey Writers had them at #30. Dunno if those are trusted sources on this. Neither had Raty as a top 50 prospect.

He’s a ppg player that’s never scored 40g and his QO is 9m+. Idk if I would call him a star but he’s still really good.

He’s a top power forward in the league at 26. He’s scored over 30 twice, on pace for 42 this year, was 25th in the league in goals last year. Let’s not try and downplay how good he is, watch a sharks game and it’s clear.

The “Isles decline” remarks are laughable. If any playoff team picks up Meier at the trade deadline for futures they will instantly become a cup favorite
