A trio of horrid deals for the Leafs. Team is worse this year and in the future. Seems to a pattern by the author.

Canucks are only doing that if they 1st is in 2023. Then you can drop one of the 2nds you’re giving up and the 3rd from Vancouver

Only Toronto fans would take
Current Leafs everyday roster players : kerfoot, engvall, robertson, sandin
Over these,
New Leafs everyday roster players: horvat, bjugstad, domi, gostisbehere
Lol smh

The leafs players are better with the exception of Bo for kerfoot. You've also wasted many other assets for a weaker team.

And also weakened the goaltending depth (which is needed) in addition to what GenXHockey mentioned.

Because they have Murray and kalgren and won't be able to pay Samsonov 3 million per minimum, b) so they they can fill more needed holes in the lineup..

So they have injury prone Matt Murray and Kallgren who isn't even a backup, and you decide to move Samsonov. Nothing here makes sense. They love Murray before Samsonov. Trading Samsonov leaves a deeper hole than the one you "filled"

Sandin is only a prospect, he's not an established nhler in my opinion and Domi's a top 6 forward.. Chicago's second for a Leafs 3rd and 2 non roster prospects to sweeten the deal if sandin falls off.

I don't see that Samsonov is any more stable than Murray or kalgren I think Samsonov is just a recency bias, if Samsonov rides the pine all playoffs and kalgren is not in the NHL on some team and the Leafs don't have a long run then it's a waste. They have to move Samsonov or move kalgren obviously considering Murray's contract and his play so far he is their number 1.

They're keeping all three this season and likely next season. End of discussion (Samsonov has been better than Murray this season btw)

I think Samsonov has to get at least 3.5M per year on a new contract at this point who knows what happens from now until the end of the year he could cost more than that..

I'm not disagreeing with the Leafs being very good but everyone that doesn't want to make a big move to get help doesn't realize they have no chance at a long playoff run with the current team.

Dubas will not get resigned if they don't make the conference final, if he does nothing and they make it then he will get a contract but I doubt they make the conference final because samsonov and Murray will get tired without the skaters having more help in the bottom half of the lineup they will be over worked by the end of the year.

Lol

Well he's played 121 games the equivalent of 1.5 full seasons, he's on the bottom pair, he's the smallest, youngest and probably lightest guy in the D group.

Hmm compared to max domi, you're right it's a hard one.

Horvat is looking at a 7 for 7 deal or maybe 8 for 8 next season I think kerfoot will get a 2 for 2 deal max.

What does his size have to do with how he plays? He leads the team in hit. And you realize that if you added Domi he would be the Leafs smallest forward right? So your only thing is that hes younger than Domi? GREAT that means the Leafs likely can have him for longer. He has played 1 single AHL game in the last 3 years, dont say hes not an NHLer. He also cost controlled for another season at 1.4 million which takes him into RFA where the Leafs still have leverage over him.

But I dont know, maybe youre right and every single other person who has commented on your thread is wrong.

Ok I am shocked he leads the team in hits lol

Yeah I don't think he is as important as max domi.

I'm not really a consensus guy, I've seen large groups of people be wrong before.

Well his size seems to be a factor when defending, doesn't seem to slow anyone down, mete and Hollowell look like they are better positioned to defend and they are small.

The best skilled guys are not usually the leaders in hits, but he's not the imposing physically either.

It's my opinion and what I'm seeing measured against a group consensus and stats so everyone is probably more correct and I didn't know some of these things but this is the way I'm seeing it, crazy it might seem so I'd still like to have domi on the Leafs.

So we'll see how she goes.
