According to the CBA you can't do conditional pick based on a player signing. So the first going back to Buffalo would be circumvent the CBA most likely. Besides that it's a gross overpayment for a rental.

Correction: The Blackhawks are struggling. Kane and Toews are playing just fine. (Especially considering the roster they've been given to work with.)

Cool. But I'm pretty sure you, and everyone else on here, understand why his metrics suck. Otherwise, you wouldn't say something like "just wait 7 months and then sign him". We all know what Kane can do in a competent and talent filled roster that isn't designed to fail and spiraling right now. I'm not suggesting BUF do the trade, I don't think Kane puts BUF in in the cup conversation this season. But let's not perpetuate this narrative about his metrics, when the cause is so clear. Everyone on here would love to have him in their top 6, they just don't want to pay for it, or they want to pay as little as possible. Which is understandable with any trade proposal. Luckily, GM's, coaches, players, scouts, and reputable pundits know his value and don't subscribe to these types of short sighted arguments.

Yes, that's not Kane. But that tells me I am not gonna give up a lot for him. Just let someone else do it.
