Ekholm gets a far better offer than that.

Go ahead and take Vrana, He's nowhere near being NHL ready 2 weeks and it's been 3 months since he's played. He agreed to the conditioning stint with Detroit nowhere else.

Buyer beware he's played a total of 39 games out of a possible 127 games for 32 points. Which isn't bad when he's healthy but he's never healthy and has a major substance issue.

Taking a big risk with Vrana, especially at that cap hit.

I am hoping that's sarcasm. post shows sabers have 14m$ in cap space after all of this.

Why is it Sarcasm, lot of money to tie up if he relapses or never stays healthy.

Sabers have a injured guy named Ben Bishop they brought in just to cost 4m$ so team could hit cap floor.
edit
If your argument is about character then it be more valid but we actually don't know why he is in player assistance program.
money is poor point for the team that had the most cap space in league at start of season.

He can't stay Healthy, he hasn't played much hockey since 2019. He's a good player with a lot of risk involved. And why should it matter if they have all that Cap Space, smart GM'S look at stuff and see if it's worth it, obviously no one did.

I am curious to see what is going to happen with him. even if he is injury prone there was a stat up that he has like top 5 goals per 60 or something like that in last few seasons.
He clearly has skill and risk attached to him, but buffalo is a team that has less risk attached because it doesn't risk any cap issues or losses by bringing him in.
a team like capitals would need to move out a player or 2 in there middle 6 or D core to take on his cap hit witch isnt something sabers would need to do. (huge risk)

Very good player when he can stay on the ice. I think once maybe a little more clarity on his situation is available that you could see him move at the TDL if Detroit is serious about moving him.
