Philly declines. Nobody wants Millers contract and Myers is a negative asset. Also how has Philly proved they don't want to rebuild?

They hired Torts.

And James van Riemsdyk is a 7M cap hit, last year got a paltry 38 points and was a -33. And you think Myers is the only one here that is a negative asset?

Torts wasn't hired to win games. He was hired to fix the locker room and develop young players.

JVR has 16 points in 19 games this year and can be traded at the TDL for picks while Myers has 2 years left with a M-NTC which makes JVR more valuable to Philly. Even if JVR was a negative asset Konecny is the more valuable player compared to Miller

In no universe does Torts develop young players. Your owner, GM and Pres all thought Torts would turn the team around and win now. I stand by my comment, Philly is not rebuilding now, nor will they probably ever.

Was it Konecny or Miller that got 99 points last year? It was Miller. Konecny got only 52.
Was it Konecny or Miller that was 54% in the faceoff dot? It was Miller. Konecny was only 42.
Was it Konecny or Miller that was a +15 last year? It was Miller. Konecny was a MINUS 23.

Which is the better player again? I only used Konecny as maybe having his cousin on the team might make Bo Horvat more encouraged to re-sign with Vancouver. There is not one player on Philly that is better than JT Miller.

If they desperately wanted to win now they would have hired someone else than Torts.

After being coached by Torts multiple young players have improved for example:

Tippett who would have been on pace for 30 goals and 50 points in a 82 game season

Frost who has broken into a fulltime NHL player and is on pace for 40 points

York who has 8 points in 12 games after being called up

Konecny who has had an amazing season and would have been on pace for 50 goals and 99 points in a 82 game season

Literally nobody expected the Flyers to even make playoffs this season so I have no clue what you are talking about the press thinking Torts would turn them into a playoff contender.

Just because they didn't rebuild last offseason doesn't mean they aren't gonna do it next offseason. Realization probably sets in with the ownership this offseason and they stop trying to retool when that clearly hasn't worked.

To be fair the point production between the 2 of them isn't very far off - Konecny 0.67 pts per game, Miller 0.72 per game. The reality is he only really took off in Tampa playing with Kucherov, Stamkos, Hedman, Point etc. Also if you look at Miller he is -13 this year so using +/- is not really a great standard.

Also Konecny plays mostly on the RW so to judge is FO percentage may not be a good gauge either.

The reality of the situation, they are both good hockey players, but if you ask any GM right now they take the 25 year old at $5.5 million a year vs the 29 year old making $8 million with a no movement clause (of which his contract ends when he is 37)

You completely missed my point that I was making. Im not talking about who is the better player but who has more trade value.

This is just stupid to compare faceoff percentage when Miller is a center and Konecny is a winger and plus minus stat is quite irrelevant stat when comparing players.

Also you are talking about last season and Im talking about the current season. Miller seems to be a locker room cancer and is not worth his extension based on this season.

Let's do a comparison based upon this season instead.

Who has more points this season? Konecny.
Who has more Goals this season? Konecny.
Who has a better plus-minus this season? Konecny.
Who has more trade value this season? Konecny.
Who plays on a worse team this season? Konecny.
Who has been hated by his own fanbase for his actions this season? Miller.

EVERY talking head asked WHY did philly bring in a coach like Torts.....he has NEVER been the kind of coach to develop players.

You want to interpolate over a 30 game sample size? Good luck with that.

Philly has played 39 games this season so don't try to underplay it into 30 games when they have played half the season so far.

Torts might not have been good at developing young players before but what he has done with Philly is clearly working and making the young guys play a lot better than before

Soo...you now realize hiring Torts means no rebuild. Philly sits in 26th...last year they were 29th. Yep, that torts clearly has that team working and playing a lot better.
Don't respond. You are just digging yourself deeper.

Why the F***.would philly add. Miller is a locker room cancer douchebag of a person. Who has a a contract that's going to age like sour milk sitting in the Florida sun in July

The thing is that they aren't trying to suck yet they are this bad. Before they won bunch of must-lose games they were 28th.

Your logic with Torts=no rebuild is also stupid because they can trade away players for picks to make the team worse. You clearly don't have any idea how much worse they could be if they traded guys like Provorov, Hayes, Konecny, DeAngelo and JVR.
