Description

This team is set up to (i) monetize all coveted assets (Bo, Schenn, Kuz), (ii) shedding term during next tank year (one year of Garland), (iii) retaining core (EP, QH Demko), (iv) grab a couple late rounders on depth playoff adds with utility and good cap hits, (v) ensure we have the worst roster possible for the second half of the season, (vi) but with one watchable forward line.

Bitter? Yes. Incredibly depressed? Certainly. Delusional? Nah.

Bo on pace for 60 goals and 90 points. Note the retension and Canes can extend. Canes are dope except for KK. Morrow blue chip? Yep that's what it takes. But the 2024 first should be very late. Less than 50% chance on quality NHLer.

The problem is Horvat is never going to sign an extension here and Waddell has made it well known that he isn't going to spend a ton for a rental that is just going to leave after the year. The only way I see anyone getting a first round pick from the Canes is if we are receiving a player with multiple years left on their deal.

Home is London Ontario, How is Carolina close to London Ontario? He doesn't live anywhere near that region.

So what does Vancouver have to do with Carolina? It's already been reported that he wants to go back to his London Ontario, Canada home. he's got a greater chance of signing with Detroit than Carolina as he grew up a Red Wings fan. His family had season tickets there at Joe Louis Arena back in the day.

Yeah... they probably do. They traded for Timmins for a reason, to fill a spot on the right side. If the leafs are going to make a move, it'll be for a top 6 forward or for some forward depth.

Yes they do, Retention means nothing on a guy who makes >1M. Plus the D is just fine rather use those assets along with others for a Top 6 Winger

Even if they decided they wanted to go the rental route, Kuzmenko is probably a bad choice anyway. Yeah, he has a bunch of goals, but dude is shooting 25%. I have a hard time seeing that continue through the whole season.
