Kapanen has 16 in 30, Roy has 17 in 39. Currently, Roy is playing 4C, but Blueger fits that role much better. They also have Amadio/Cotter playing 2nd and 3rd line respectively, which Kapanen can play and probably put up more points. By moving one of Amadio/Cotter down to 4th, Carrier can be moved.

Vegas never does this. Roy is underperforming a bit in points but the 4th line has been dominant at points in the season. Carrier is literally having the best season of his career. Roy also just signed a huge, team friendly, extension so he really isn't going anywhere. Why wouldn't they just upgrade the 3rd line LW instead of dumping 2/3rds of their solid 4th line? Especially not for Kapanen.
