Why would u trade a useful player in Kerfoot for a guy who isn't any better than Clifford at this point? Kerfoot is a 30-40 point player who can play all 3 positions and is a great 2-way player and penalty killer. You want to give that up just for useless "grit"? Also Severson is just another Jake Gardiner.

Brutal for the Leafs. Kerfoot is much th superior player than than Lucic. Holl is better than Severson this season Leafs have no intention (or the cap) to sign Severson to a five year contract. Brodie, Liljegren, Timmins are the right side next year, and Holl can be resigned if needed

How about 3.5m cap difference, and it doesn't cost the Leafs Robertson and a 2nd as proposed.

You know better if Severson plays tough minutes or not. But Holl has most of the season. 21 minutes a night. No easy PP time. Brodie has been injured so Holl has been the players tough minutes as the other two RHD are Liljegren and Timmins, (though Liljegren has shown real growth this year) Leafs are 3rd in a GAA, so Holl's contribution should not diminished.

AAV is ~$2.17m difference. (Severson $4,166,666, Holl $2,000,000)

Hamilton gets about 2/3rd of PP time on NJD, Severson only gets about 1/4 of PP time.

As for team defense, Toronto has allowed 107 goals in 41 games (#2) while NJ has allowed 108 goals in 41 games (#3). Similarly ranked on GA/60, even-strength GA, etc. So defenses have been on par.
