As a Caps fan, I would love to take that deal for Orpik, but that is a horrible deal for Toronto

Why would the Leafs ever agree to take on that terrible contract in a 1-for-1 deal? Tell you what, the Caps throw in Tom Wilson, Philipp Grubauer and their 2017 1st round pick and you got yourself a deal grin

You'd have to talk to STL to get the 1st round pick...

Also, that trade you're suggesting is horrendous for the caps.

Leafs probably have there three minor league goalies. There are lots of UFA goalies better than Hutchinson. Leafs are probably too close to the cap this year and next to take Orpik. But will a team that need cap and maybe a serviceable Dman, take him with a sweetener like Arizona.
