Holl is 18 months younger than Gudas and has spent a total of 12 days on the injured list over his four-plus seasons with Toronto, during which time he's played 247 games with the team. Gudas would have to be introduced to everyone in the locker room and spent the month of December suffering from the effects of a concussion which, as we all know, is a danger to recur. Toronto is in a tie with 5 other teams for 4th though 9th in the NHL in goals against, and Holl is tied with T. J. Brodie for second on the team in time on ice having played in all 44 games while Brodie has missed 16. I can see the idea behind adding Radko Gudas for the stretch run and the playoffs, but I can't see the logic in starting Gudas over Holl if you get both of them, let alone exchanging one for the other.
