There is likely no chance Winnipeg's 23 1st, Salomonsson or Lucius are in play for a rental.

Way way way too much for Bo Horvat who is another all-offence forward. Not at all what we need, especially at that price.

Detroit passes, Rasmussen is country miles better than Vesalainen. And a lousy 5th doesn't make up for it either.

This team doesn’t need a ton, squad is running out same 3 up the middle and a good chance the top 4 on blueline pretty set, if dumba wasn’t on a division rival that would be a rental I would look at, then some wingers to upgrade the top 9, not sure a fellow needs to upgrade perfetti or wheeler spot in top 6, but could use some injury replacement/depth scoring to round out top 9. So rhd dman rental possibly bigger and tougher than dumba, mobility wouldn’t be bad, but just a guy to push the top 4 and strengthen the 8 going into the playoffs, and some depth scoring possibly domi, or any other rental with a little bit of grit and scoring. No major expensive buying unless there’s a major sale item in the right handed defenseman upgrade department, that knocks the rest down a peg.

Why would Detroit trade Rasmussen for a player you decided was so bad that let him walk?
