I honestly don't know. Maybe add a first and get rid of the second. I need Nucks fans opinions

Fair, heard on 32 thoughts that early 2nd round picks in 2023 are worth more than firsts in 2024

Pettersson for Dahlin, Pettersson for Thompson, Pettersson for Power, Pettersson for Kulich ++.

Not saying these deals will ever happen but the Canucks would want best player for best player. Petey isn’t going anywhere.

Yeah I mean realistically the nucks are rebuilding, they arent looking for a hockey trade and why would buffalo do any of those aside for kulich... Thompson and dahlin are better than him, power will be in 2 years.

The Canucks are not rebuilding, they are retooling. And Rutherford has made that clear in almost every single press conference including the one today. They want immediate impact players under 25 if they shake up the core. They are looking for a serious turn around for next season under Tocchet. Pettersson is one of the best players in the league and he’s criminally underrated for how smart and skilled he is. As a Canucks fan I wouldn’t trade him for any of those three just as you wouldn’t as a sabres fan.

Canucks aren't trading him unless he requests a trade. If he does, the return instantly becomes basically the Eichel package. Maybe Olofsson + Quinn + 23 1st? Quinn is a better prospect now than Krebs was at the time, but Olofsson is a worse player than Tuch.

If Petey were to hit the market, He'd get far better offers than that.

And both Bunting and Severson will at least get 6 year terms.

Buffalo would take that trade over the one I proposed any day of the week

I forgot the canucks org was delusional, wasnt the retool supposed to be when they trade what turned into guenther for OEL and Garland... You know what they say about the definition of insanity

Petey gets more than Eichel for sure

Meh... I think that offer I proposed is more than the eichel offer. I am not sure if petey is better than eichel

He's on pace for a better season than Eichel has ever had. He's younger than when Eichel was traded. Oh, and his back doesn't need major surgery.

Assuming you aren't moving Dahlin or Thompson. The price at the bare minimum would be Power, Savoie, and two 1sts

Yeah your offer is better. Disagree that Petey isn’t better than eichel. Eichel would’ve also got more if he was healthier. Don’t think your offer is bad just think it gets outbid. As a jackets fan they would definitely beat that offer

Pettersson getting the Barkov treatment. Mans one of the best centres in the league.

Why is Buffalo trading for pettersson?

We have our 1 and 2C and he is a free agent in 2 years.

Absolutely brutal asset management

Buffalo shouldn't trade for pettersson to begin with.

If that's the price he will never be traded

And he isn’t 10m per & always getting injured.

There is no Sabres fan who’ll roast this lousy deal.

I don't think Petey will be traded so its somewhat of a moot point but definitely would not be getting what you are asking. Power straight up is basically fair. Not that Power would be available anyway. No team trades dmen with that kind of upside.

That’s an insane ask. I understand he isn’t being moved unless he asks for a trade but power is the top defensive prospect in the NHL. If the sabres offered him and a first that would be very hard to beat

He's 2 years away from way more than 10.

Buffalo shouldn't be trading for him. It also isn't close to a lousy deal.

I'd take that in a second. But then again I want to blow it up in Van because I actually want to win one day. Unfortunately management wants to another bandaid on things.
