Montembeault has been amazing this season. He’s just now entering his prime and seems to feel comfortable with the Habs. Maybe the extended play he’s received in the nhl has done something for him. Prior to being in Mtl he was only given short nhl stints, most of his time played in the minors.

Monty in his draft year was seen as a potential starter but was a work in progress. I think the Canadiens coaching staff have been working with him on his positioning and the confidence they have shown in him have brought out the best in Monty and he will continue to get better.

I don't think it's reasonable to expect Monty to become Price or Vasilevsky but I think a Theodore or Halak is certainly possible
