I imagine they come back with pretty much the same roster as this year. Gotta see some movement on the back end. Gotta replace (upgrade) a couple guys. Gotta get some contract signed. Lets go.

Get some prospects signed Levi, Johnson top prio - ignore the salary/years given...just got them on the roster
Sign a couple RFA's: Let bjork davies pekar walk...maybe bring back davies depending on what UFA looks like for AHL guys - dime a dozen -
Sign a couple of their own FA's : Only retaining Girgensons and Subban
Sign UFA's: Throw a little money at Connor Clifton for a few years to play with power / Acciari to replace Okposo - similar player who can move up to the 3rd line in a pinch and a few years younger, can also play center

Goaltending needs addressed IMO but I highly doubt anything happens there. I would throw money at Jarry for two seasons personally but he likely goes back to pitt anyway...could maybe swing for Korpisalo, Adin Hill, Lankinen or even Varlomov for cheap. I didnt make a move in this GM cuz i really think they go with UPL and Comrie. I believe UPL has proven he has what it takes ot win, and with a better defense in front of him he should look even better.


TRADES: The only trade happens at the draft.
Mittlestadt(1 million retained to wash out salary), and Jokiharju, for Roslovic (with 3 yr extension) and a 4th rd. pick in 2024

In closing - Keep the first 2 lines intact and upgrade the bottom 2 lines. Upgrade the defense as best you can without giving away the farm - though they do have extra stuff to give.

Asplund and Bryson become the extra forward and defenseman in the press box

I believe the sabres would vastly improve the bottom 6 with the subtraction of Okposo and Mittlestadt. Replacing them with Roslovic and Acciari gives stability in your own end while also bringing in some more experienced youngish players

Removing Jokiharju and Bryson from the equation is an automatic win. Johnson and Clifton are both solid in their own end. (Johnson, unproven obviously but that's what he's known for)
