I love what Buffalo has done through their rebuild. They didnt go out and spend a ridiculous amount on Free Agents to build their team (for the most part), but they drafted extremely well and were smart sellers. The amount of NHL ready youth this team has is unbelievable, and there are so many players with superstar potential in the system. With guys like Cozens, Thompson, Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Savoie, Ostlund, and Rosen headlining the forward group, this team will be an offensive powerhouse. Plus, they have Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, and Jokiharju to form a fantastic top 4 and potentially the leagues best goaltending duo in Luukkonen and Levi. This team could easily run a dynasty and will be playing some great hockey for years to come. The future is so exciting in Buffalo that I will cheer for them despite them being in the same division as my Leafs.

San Jose is 17th in GF and 29th in GA. They score plenty, they just can’t stop the puck

You are correct I got carried away with my thoughts, just frustrated with so many posts that Buffalo is moving their 2023 first, I am sorry!.
Brett is one of the D-men in the NHL and was given away.

I get it! I feel the same with when I see Karl's son 50% retained for 2 mid level prospects a cap dump and a 2nd. Or Meier for a b prospect a 24 1st and an average NHL player.

That's very kind coming from a Leafs fan. Cheers.

And this, " this team will be an offensive powerhouse" ... we're already 2nd in GF/g (and have been 1st most of the year). Imagine what "will be" looks like.

A lot of BUF fans on CapFriendly seem to be more than willing to trade away our top prospects and future draft picks. Fortunately for BUF fans GMKA is not going to even consider doing that. "Dynasty" is what we are after, not rental players, not giving away guys like Mitts, Olofsson, Rosen, Ostlund and 1st round picks.

I really don't get all the suggest trades here for Fs from other teams. Our F group is plenty good enough. We could upgrade Jokiharju and slide him to 3rd pairing. That's where any assets will be spent. And then on another 5-6 D-man, which is way down on the priority list. The 6th D-man in BUF plays like 7mins a night.

Being 17th is not "plenty" unless you mean plenty enough to be below average.

Yes they are a below average team but they score just fine for the talent they have.
