Hughes is untouchable for the Canucks. Top 10 Dman in the league and easily a top 5 offensive D man. He’s easily worth a top prospect at least. It’s like if you guys were trading Jack Hughes. Would you want Ilya Mikheyev and Noah Juulsen or Elias ****in Pettersson.

By GSVA for 22/23, Quinn would be tied for 5th among defensemen on the Devils roster with Severson.
This is likely to change of course but by the GSVA metric Hamilton, Siegenthaler and Graves are having significantly better seasons than Quinn.
At the very best I could see the case for Quinn becoming the 2nd best D on the Devils after Hamilton, but even getting past Siegenthaler is a pretty tall order.
As for Horvat, he is certainly not an improvement on Hischier or Jack Hughes.

Neither player fills any need for the Devils either, so why are they giving up a package roughly equivalent to that of what Lindros got?

If you want a top 10-15 dman in the league, who’s only 23 and signed long term, you’re absolutely giving up Nemec+

Maybe the day our GM says NJ roster needs “major surgery” we can name prices on guys like Jack Hughes.

But also, I think NJD and VAN fans should be laughing together at all the Quinn-to-NJ deals posted by fans of other teams. We both know they are all lunacy, and neither fanbase wants it to happen.

That’s the thing. Any reasonable devils fan knows this trade isn’t going to happen. The only ones realistically making these acgms are Vancouver fans because they think that because we have Jack and Luke we must want Quinn. They are not trading for him. Like I say to every other canucklhead clown about Quinn to NJ, the Devils will either wait for Quinn to request a trade or wait till he walks himself here in FA. No reasonable Canucks fan is trying to trade Hughes. Most ACGMs with him trades are by Devils fans, who can’t stop fantasizing about having all 3 on their team, which isn’t going to happen any time soon, unless the Devils come in with an insane offer headlined by Nemec++
