I dont see vancouver doing that. Probably just by out OEL and trade Horvat for positive assets.

Why would a Vancouver team that's more than likely heading for a rebuild? Want 8 years of dead money on the books from OEL. Makes no sense what so ever.

Rutherford wants to contend in 2-3 years. Unless the plan is to have Tocchet run OEL out of town, a buyout is the only other way he leaves. No one is trading for him.

Because vancouver is not going to rebuilt. The fans and media want a rebuild but Rutherford wants to make the playoffs. He's old. He didn't come for a rebuild. You don't sign jt miller to that contract if your rebuilding. But OEL contract saves them alot the next 2 yrs, after that Rutherford will probably be retired and wont care if he leaves the canucks in cap hell.

You're just over complicating this horvat deal.

I think Canucks accepts this one. They have a very weak prospect pool and this trade would improve it a lot. Not really high end talent, but so much quantity.

Boeser is gone, Horvat is gone. Garland more than likely gone and OEL buyout. Sorry but to me that's not a team that's going to be contending in 2-3 years. And everyone knows that the Canucks ownership is a royal joke.

Most Canuck fans know this. Given the poor handling of the BB situation, I would not be shocked if some of the core wanted out too. A rebuild is almost certainly inevitable but it doesn’t appear that Rutherford will accept that fact.

I do like the idea of Chiarot on a different team.

I just think Rutherford is too stubborn and still thinks this team can compete. Unless Bertuzzi comes with an extension as part of the deal, I doubt they trade for another expiring contract.

I think this value favors Vancouver and is a worse deal for Detroit, so I REALLY don't like it from a Detroit perspective.

No way Detroit does this, OEL if anything lessens Horvat's value. Bertuzzi is fine but i doubt JR has any interest in him. Doubt Ben Chiarot would waive for Vancouver. Carter Mazur is going to be a stud plus another Michigan boy no thanks.

Horvat and OEL aren't worth giving up 8 pieces. Both Horvat and OEL combined will be around $15,700,000. Plus according to Helene St James it sounds like Yzerman and Larkin are getting closer to a new deal probably around 8 x $8,750,000 i'd imagine she said it will be in the high 8s.

This is one of the worst red wings trades I've seen. Absolutely horrible for Detroit. Vancouver would do this in a second. It will never happen or anything close to this.
