If the 1st is downgraded to a 2nd...
and Foote is swapped out for one of Bahl or Walsh...
...it would resemble a realistic return for Timo Meier.

But your suggested trade is likely far too rich Meier.

Holtz, Bahl/Walsh and a 2nd is not enough, I believe, especially if Meier comes with an extension. At least Holtz and the 1st should be a lock.

What other type of similar winger has swung a blue chip prospect + a 1st rd pick?
I cannot think of any comparables of that happening.

Mark Stone got Brännström and a 2nd, Fiala got pick #19 and Brock Faber.
2nd + Holtz seems right in line with market value for a guy like Meier to me, let alone adding one of Bahl / Walsh.

Pens say no, they don't need another 35 year old Center.

1st (probably around #20) + Holtz is not that far off from the return in the Fiala trade, especially considering that the prices are higher at trade deadline than at the draft.

Fair enough, that trade was more about the historical connection.
