Personally I’d rather have Garland, but JR and Allvin don’t seem to like him so I could definitely see the Canucks accepting. They may prefer a mid round pick though to clear his full salary

I think Tochett likes him so i wonder if they give him another chance under a new coach

It’s fairly even in salary. But I doubt Buchnevich gets moved. I highly doubt he’s moved for Brock Nelson. I’m not sure an add on top of Nelson even makes sense. But it would need to be substantial.

Why would the blues trade the younger, slightly cheaper, more productive, PPG winger for an older, 50-60 point winger? How does this make any sense? I'm very curious to hear the answer.

1- Nelson’s a center
2- he’s on pace for ~70 points
3- he’s on pace for another season of ~35 goals
Not saying STL should make this trade but you wrote a very inaccurate summary of the trade.

Also, it sounds like you guys aren't going to re-sign O'Reilly. So Nelson slots into his 2nd Center spot. You save money as O'Reilly is currently making 7.5M and Nelson is only 6M

We already have brayden Schenn who will slide into the 2c spot so we have go that covered. Also buchnevich had 30 goals last year and is a PPG player this year. Nelson has never cracked above 60 points in his career. Looking at back at his career he has mainly been a 50 point player. Last year he did well but buch did a lot better. So again why are we trading the younger, more productive, sligthly cheaper player? Buch fits our core a hell of a lot better than Nelson. We are retooling/rebuilding not trading younger players for older players. This is horrible trade for the blues that doesn't fulfill their needs at all

Again I wasn’t addressing the trade I couldn’t care less. All I said was that your summary of Nelson was extremely inaccurate (which it was). Do with that information whatever you please.
