My TDL predictions

Created by: Wadejos123
Team: 2022-23 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2023
Published: Jan. 28, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Othmann, Brennan
  2. 2023 1st round pick (NYR)
  3. 2025 4th round pick (DAL)
NYR
  1. Johnson, Jack
  2. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Pre season i was one of the only ones that thought he would say, but things seem to trending this way now. NYR recent climb in the standings make them the logical fit that they have been for 2 years now
2.
CHI
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
CHI can take salary back if needed. Wasn't sure who WPG viewed as a dump so didn't add it here
WPG
  1. Toews, Jonathan ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Too much of a competitor to stay on this hawks team. Rumor is he'll resign in WPG on a discount. Hawks do right by their captain and take a lesser return to get Toews where he wants to go
3.
CHI
  1. Brossoit, Laurent
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (BUF)
4.
CHI
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (FLA)
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Panthers are kinda all in at this point aern't they? Mcabe isn't a rental either. Based on recent D trades (eg Chariot, etc) this deal is good value for FLA.
5.
CHI
FLA
    Additional Notes:
    - Seth Jones named next captain of the Blackhawks

    - Max Domi extends 4.5M x 4

If it only took a 2nd to add Toews for the playoffs, Chevy should do that today.

Would think Chevy would do that if that's all it takes to get Toews, they really need some middle six help and someone who could slot in at 2C if needed, Toews fits the bill.

I'd be thrilled to get Othmann from the Rangers but I don't see that happening. If this deal happens it's probably a lesser prospect like a Cuylle.

Panarin, Krieder, and Laf down the left. where does Othmann fit in? Even if krieder goes to the right long term like he has been, Othman gets 3rd line minutes at best?

I could see him on the 3rd line until Breadman's deal is up. Or maybe he outplays Laf and end up on 2LW. But I hope you're right! Like I said, I'd be thrilled if he was the prospect in a Kane trade.

Could end up being Kane + Lafferty for a 1st + Othmann, or Kane for a 2nd and Othmann

I'd want getting one of their 23 1st's to be top priority. Maybe if NYR value othmann that high we could even get both? Unlikely but not out of the question

To lock in one of the 2023 1sts plus Othmann, Hawks would need to add to Kane iMO

    Maybe Lafreniere's days are numbered?

Doubt very much if Othmann is included in a trade. As noted above maybe Cuylee could be part of the package.

Fair value for Toews but put conditions on it. Upgrades to a first if Winnipeg reaches the finals.

Optimistic return for Stalock considering he's been on IR twice with concussions. If healthy, maybe a 3rd now most likely a 4th or lower.

Hawks hopefully do better in a McCabe trade. Davidson shouldn't be interested in "good value" for the Panthers. He should be interested in good value for Chicago.
