I would so take that Kuraly deal. Would make a nice open spot for Voronkov next year.

Username checks out... Barbashev is the only one thats close.... I dont even know if McCabe is an upgrade on Sandin and youre adding ALL that extra??? Sean Kuraley isnt even worth the 3rd youre offering and youre adding Robertson and Niemela???

I think the offer of a 2nd for Barbashev is in the realm of fair - but I wonder if Barbashev becomes more valuable simply because his deadline cap hit would be so low. His annual cap hit this year is 2.2milly and he fills a role much larger than that cost, as he’s gone up and down the lineup, and all special teams his entire career, and plays physical while not having an injury history of note.

If Barbashev is moved I could see the cost actually creep up a bit due primarily to his tiny cap hit meaning there could be more trading partners.

Yeah, I mean that late 1st I'm sure turns into a better player then Murphy or McCabe, and sandin is for sure better then both of them squinty smile

Well Leafs wouldn't trade Sandin for McCabe 50% retained much less no retention.

No interest in Murphy at this point. Much less considering we're moving SDA and a 1st (and subsequent players with value to the team) for him.

McCabe at 50% retained is a playoff hockey move over Sandin and the Leafs window is now. I'd do it for a better chance this season and next based on what the Leafs need in the backend.

SDA isn't all the interesting, but the chance of that late 1st even turning into a NHL player is about 33% chance. Again, the Leafs are in a win now mode.

I don't think the Leafs need McCabe and Murphy both, but one of them would be helpful for playoff hockey for sure; or a player like them and the very late 1st isn't of much value to the leafs other then for acquisition of a player that can help them this season and next.

Sure then, we'll take McCabe 50% retention for a 1st. I'm good with that.

I don't think the rebuilding Hawks would be opposed to that, but I doubt McCabe waives. He's from Chicago (just over the border in Wisconsin), has planted his family there even before he was a Hawk, and forced the Hawks to give him the NMC when he signed is what the reporting was at the time.
